Here are a few tips to help you build your fitness confidence.
- Try a group exercise class. You will benefit from the group motivation, instruction and can pick up techniques to use out of class. Do not worry everyone else will be concentrating on what they are doing too.Exercise with a friend, you can share ideas and check each others technique. Working out with a friend will keep you motivated.
- Knowledge is power! Put fitness on your radar and take a little time to learn about how to exercise effectively.

- If you are going to use a gym make sure you have an induction and ask questions so you are happy with how to use the equipment. If in doubt ask, gym instructors are there to help you and give advice on the best exercises for you. Most gyms will offer the option of setting up an individual training plan, well worth it if you are new to working out.
- Make sure you feel comfortable in your workout clothes and shoes. There is nothing more distracting than spending a workout adjusting clothing or suffering from sore feet. You do not have to sent lots of money on the latest kit but make sure that your clothing does not restrict your movement or expose more of your body than you are comfortable with. Layers are useful as you warm up and cool down.
